Symptoms include: Diarrhoea, abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting.
Usual incubation period: 3-5 days.
Duration of holiday illness: about 2-5 days but sometimes longer.
Prevention: water should be chlorinated; milk should be heat treated; and hotel food should be thoroughly cooked, especially poultry.

The acute phase of stomach cramps and diarrhoea stopped after 3 days. Whilst visiting the bathroom she fainted and hurt her face.
