"Mrs Doree suffered from campylobacter food poisoning at her hotel which started 3 days from the end of her all inclusive holiday in Mexico. The acute phase of stomach cramps and diarrhoea stopped after 3 days. Whilst visiting the bathroom she fainted and hurt her face. When she returned home, she was absent from work for 6 weeks and was treated for parasites in her stools in addition to campylobacter food poisoning – she also suffered from depression as a consequence of the holiday bug. Mrs Doree also developed post-infective irritable bowl syndrome and her prognosis was that she would have symptoms indefinitely but that they would improve with time"
