£27,000 Compensation Award for Holiday Accident Victim

A Norfolk holidaymaker has been awarded £27,000 by Thomas Cook following an accident at a hotel in Gran Canaria.

Mrs Thomas suffered a broken hip after falling on a badly maintained and dimly lit wooden bridge that straddled one of the hotel’s swimming pools.

Holiday Accident Compensation

After contacting leading Holiday Accident Solicitors, Simpson Millar, her personal injury claim was taken on by Nick Harris, the firm’s Holiday Accident specialist lawyer.

Personal injury Specialist for Foreign Accidents

Nick Harris, said;

“In Mrs Thomas’ case the there were complicated issues we needed to resolve.

Whilst English law applied to her case because she had booked a package holiday it was Spanish and Canarian standards of safety that we had to measure.

Standards vary from country to country and in Mrs Thomas’ case we had to prove that the construction and maintenance of the bridge and the prevailing lighting failed to comply with Spanish and Canarian safety standards

After working closely with a Spanish Abogado and Canarian Architect expert evidence was obtained proving beyond all doubt that the bridge was unsafe.

Another Happy Client

After receiving her award Mrs Thomas was asked to sum up the service she had received from Simpson Millar and had to say;

The service was efficient, professional and sensitive to the nature of my claim. It was an excellent service with good communication”.

Mrs Thomas had nothing but praise for Nick Harris;

“Mr Harris was considerate, understanding and extremely helpful. He was a patient and caring gentleman making me feel valued

The service was exceptional and exceeded my expectations. I can see nothing that might improve what is offered”.

How Much Does it Cost to Make a Personal Injury Claim?

Simpson Millar Solicitors take on cases on ‘No Win No Fee’ agreement terms.

This type of funding is supported by an insurance policy which is recovered from the losing party at the end of the case.

The insurance policy is unusual in so far that if the case is lost it actually pays it’s own premium.

In all cases Simpson Millar’s Holiday Accident Solicitors promise to limit the costs to whatever they recover from the other side at the end of the case.

This means that if Simpson Millar believe you have a good case and take on you holiday injury claim under a no win no fee agreement then providing your claim is not fraudulent you will pay nothing win or lose.

There were no deductions taken from the compensation awarded so in Mrs Thomas’ case meaning she received every penny of the £27,000 awarded.
