Holiday illness complaints at the Coral Sea Aqua Club resort as guests report sickness bugs

Holidaymakers are taking legal action against the Coral Sea Aqua Club resort in Egypt claiming their holidays at this four-star Egyptian family resort have been ruined by suspected food poisoning, causing them to become seriously ill.

Illness causing guests to endure 'Shigella'

A form of dysentery which can cause serious illness, including dehydration, nausea, chronic diarrhoea (including blood in stools), fever and high temperatures

Guests staying at the resort have also been taking to the hotel's TripAdvisor page, with many complaining that the bug had ruined their holiday, where staff at the hotel restaurants are reported to have not been seen wearing latex gloves or using hand sanitizers.

With 2 huge outdoor swimming pools and on-site waterpark that attracts hundreds of families every year, it is worrying to hear complaints around pool closures.

Tour operators are legally bound to ensure good hygiene standards to protect the well-being of its customers which is why we are being contacted by holidaymakers who are reporting being unwell with symptoms similar to a virus at the Coral Sea Aqua Club in Egypt.

However, guests allege that they have witnessed unsafe food handling standards at the all-inclusive Coral Sea Aqua Club restaurants, which they have booked through Thomson Holidays.

Such poor hygiene practices inevitably cause diarrhoea, vomiting and stomach cramps, and doctors are know to be putting holidaymakers on intravenous (IV) drips and prescribing antibiotics.

People are suffering illness as food is reported to have being served uncovered, with some observing that some of the on-site restaurants are serving lukewarm food. Cross contamination of food is strictly prohibited and the tour operators have a legal obligation to ensure these restaurants handle food with care. Sadly, it seems this is not being adhered to and people are becoming ill as a result.
