Salmonella Claims at the Notorious Holiday Village Turkey Hotel - Update

Legal action is being taken by hundreds of British holidaymakers against the notorious First Choice Holiday Village hotel in Turkey. 584 tourists were affected by illnesses such as salmonella and E. Coli after the outbreak of a gastric stomach illness in the hotel.

This is not the first time the Holiday Village Hotel in Sarigerme in Turkey has come under fire. Since 2005, a staggering 1,200 visitors have made claims for compensation after falling ill whilst staying in the hotel.

Over 100 cases are being pursued by Simpson Millar's Holiday Illness Claims Team, this involved guests who stayed at the Holiday Village Turkey Resort during summer 2009 and contracted illnesses such as Cryptosporidium and Salmonella.

The guests reported seeing terrible hygiene standards in the hotel. In some cases, food was uncovered, uncooked, and sometimes appeared to have been reheated when it was served. It was also reported that cats, birds and insects had been spotted roaming in the dining areas.

The gastric illness that spread throughout the hotel ruined many peoples holidays, making them suffer from diarrhoea, stomach cramps, fever and vomiting.

Many suffered from Salmonella Food Poisoning – a condition that causes severe gastric symptoms and can lead to irritable bowel syndrome.

Holidaymakers are urged to research their destination before choosing a hotel to stay in, as many hotels are notorious for having poor hygiene standards.
