Sickness Bug Holidaymakers Win £30,000 Compensation Claim

Latest News- Holiday Sickness Victims win £30,000 after Simpson Millar’s Holiday Sickness Claims Solicitors secure £30,000 for their Dominican Republic holiday illness misery.

Holidaymakers hit by a sickness outbreak at a hotel in the Dominican Republic were jubilant after winning in excess of £30,000 in compensation from their tour operator this week.

The party became sick during a holiday at an all-inclusive hotel in the Dominican Republic.

During the holiday each member of the party fell sick with profuse diarrhoea, debilitating stomach cramps and vomiting.

In an out of court settlement Thomas Cook compensated the party for their ruined holidays which included compensation for food that was undercooked and cold and birds being freely able to peck at food displayed on buffet counters.

Several holidaymakers were subjected to witnessing rats being clubbed to death by a hotel worker and others complained of building work contaminating the swimming pools leading to guests suffering painful ear infections.

Nick Harris, Head of International Travel Law at Simpson Millar, said:

"It is pleasing that we have been able to reach an amicable resolution to these cases."

"However, it remains that our clients should never have been exposed to such poor standards of hygiene in the first place."
