Food poisoning suspected at the Iberostar Averroes Hotel, Tunisia

There is an illness outbreak at the Iberostar Averroes Hotel in Hammamet, Tunisia, with food poisoning being the suspected culprit.

The Iberostar Averroes Hotel is a 4* all-inclusive hotel and being an all-inclusive, it's not surprise that guests are becoming ill. The buffet is often the main culprit, with food left standing for hours and being reheated numerous times.

Holiday hotel Watch

One guest who recently stayed at the hotel spoke of her husband's illness. She wrote on 'TripAdvisor' "The food - can't say anything good as my husband now has food poisoning and is very poorly."

She goes on to say how the drains smelt bad and that the toilet flushing system was very poor. Overall, the holidaymaker labels the hotel "a dump".

You often find that all-inclusive hotels struggle to maintain their buffets and replenish food as frequently as they should. With many hotels just reheating the food to speed the process of feeding the hundreds of guests, which can be dangerous and a breeding ground for bacteria.
